Waveguide Diplexer

A waveguide diplexer connects two frequency-selective branches to a common RF port, allowing transmit and receive bands to share an antenna feed. Dolph lists C-, X-, Ku- and Ka-band options. Specify both passbands and the required rejection between them; numerical loss, isolation and power limits must be agreed for the selected configuration.

What We Match Before Quotation

Rx and Tx frequency ranges

Provide both passband edges and the required separation between transmit and receive bands. State rejection in dB over the interfering band, including any frequency points with tighter limits.

Polarization and rejection

Specify polarization and the devices connected to each port. Frequency separation is the diplexer function; separating two orthogonal polarizations is an OMT function. Cross-polarization performance must be specified for the complete feed arrangement.

Power and interfaces

State CW power, peak power and duty cycle at the transmit port. Identify the waveguide, flange and common-port interfaces on a port-labelled drawing.

Mechanical layout

Send the mating drawing, available envelope or a simple sketch when the standard layout does not fit. Custom waveguide assemblies can be reviewed with the diplexer interfaces together.

Three-port RF path

The common port connects to the antenna or feed network. The two filter branches pass different frequency bands to their respective ports; the required Tx/Rx isolation must be evaluated over the specified bands.

Model-specific values require confirmation

The summary table contains qualitative descriptions rather than numeric acceptance limits. Obtain model-specific passband loss, VSWR, rejection and power ratings with the quotation; do not use “low” or “high” as an acceptance criterion.

Ordering code is defined in the sheet

Use the published ordering information together with your final frequency, polarization and interface requirement when requesting a quote.

Use the Diplexer as Part of the Feed Chain

Assign a loss budget to each transmit and receive path, including adjoining waveguide and connectors. Check that the common-port interface and polarization arrangement match the horn and OMT.

Need polarization separation? Review the OMT Orthogonal Mode Transducer.
Need a defined passband or rejection mask? Review the Waveguide Filter.
Need the horn, OMT, filter and diplexer as one assembly? Review RF Networks and Antenna Feeder Networks.

From Drawing to Tested Hardware

Manufacturing in-house

Dolph lists CNC machining, turning, waveguide forming and bending, anodising and passivation, abrasive machining, diamond grinding, electrolytic and electroless plating, soldering and brazing of Copper, Copper alloys and Aluminum, and electroforming.

Custom interface work

For non-standard layouts, Dolph can work from detailed drawings or simple sketches and review custom bends, waveguide sections and end flanges with the required RF interfaces.

Inspection requirement can be defined in the RFQ

If your procurement package needs specific RF limits, inspection evidence or test reports, include the required method, frequency points and acceptance limits before order release.
